Artist Bio:
Shori Sims is a multidisciplinary artist and educator based in Birmingham, AL. Their work interrogates shifting identities, internet culture, loneliness, and domestic spaces made unfamiliar. Driven by a desire to uncover the truths in mythology, Sims’ drawings, videos, sculptures, and multi-media installations see objects as symbolic bodies that support storytelling and unlock unique mental associations for the viewer. Sims received their BFA from Carnegie Mellon University and graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with an MFA in Sculpture. Recent and forthcoming exhibitions of Shori’s work have taken place both nationally and internationally, including in New York City, London, and Toronto, with their work being held in libraries and institutional collections.
