Dina AZ. Salem (b. Alexandria, Egypt) is a Washington, D.C.–based abstract artist whose practice moves between painting and sculptural relief. Her work explores healing and emotional resilience through layered surfaces, architectural structure, and dimensional form. By transforming tactile and raw materials into composed geometric arrangements, she examines how imperfection can be preserved and restructured into strength.
Salem has presented solo exhibitions, including “/mend/” (2023) and “Here, but not here” (2021) at Homme Gallery in Washington, D.C. In 2025, she participated in Umbrella Art Fair (Washington, D.C.) and group exhibitions, including “Traces” at IA&A at Hillyer and “Transversal Imprint” at the DC Arts Center. Her work has also been shown at the Academy Art Museum and Foundry Gallery. She has served as a panelist for the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities’ Public Experience Fund.
