Artist Bio:

Clarence James (b. 1991) is a contemporary American artist. Born in Stanford, raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. Since graduating from Howard University in 2014, James has built his career over the past decade by embarking on a self-taught art journey, developing a brand and aesthetic, and gaining traction over the years through street art interventions, group and solo exhibitions, public murals, and creative entrepreneurship.

His work is owned in private collections worldwide and prominently featured in the Pendry Hotel’s collection. He has worked with production houses Boilerroom TV, venues like iPic and Surflodge in the Hamptons, fashion houses such as Fendi, and brands like Adidas, Nike/Jordan brand, and Spotify. His work has been exhibited in Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, New York City, and Boston, including major art fairs during Art Basel Miami (Scope 2025, Art Miami 2024), and a marquee solo show at the National Arts Club at Gramercy Park (NYC, 2022). He currently lives and works in Washington, D.C., out of the historic 52 O Street Studios.
